NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 30 – The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is set to launch its web-based television station dubbed ‘KRA TV” on Monday.
The station seeks to enhance tax literacy in the country through the dissemination of simplified tax and customs content.
It also aims to enhance voluntary tax compliance in addition to propelling the country’s tax base.
KRA TV which will have customized tax content that the public may consume at their convenience will be hosted on the KRA website to drive a demand-based viewership.
The taxman’s television will have key features like scheduled live programming of tax awareness activities like Tax Talks, Tax Thursday, Stori za Ushuru and other educational programs.
Among the other programmes it will have, KRA TV will air a variety of simplified and downloadable content that will cater to the various taxpayer categories.
KRA will launch the station during the 2022 Taxpayers Month event which seeks to appreciate compliant taxpayers for their patriotic act of dutifully remitting their taxes towards the country’s development agenda.
To honour compliant taxpayers, KRA will engage in various activities like taxpayer appreciation engagements, taxpayer education, tax summit event, and Corporate Social Investment (CSI) activities.
