PSV travellers to access accident cover under new deal signed by Britam

NAIROBI, Kenya, July 18 – Public Service Vehicles(PSV) travelers are set to access a personal accident cover after Britam holdings Plc and a  technology company, Voltic Kenya signed a partnership that will cushion the trip duration of their trip at no extra charge.

The cover will be available for passengers who buy tickets through Voltic’s i-Abiri booking platform providing travelers coverage of Shs 50,000 on Accidental Medical Expenses, Shs 15,000 on Ambulance Services and Shs 200,000 in the unfortunate case of accidental death or disability

This service will apply to passengers using bus companies such as ENA Coach, Dreamline, Tahmeed, and Randa among others benefit from the partnership.

Commenting on the partnership, George Makori, CEO Voltic Kenya reaffirmed the firm’s commitment to providing passengers and the entire transport sector with innovative solutions

“Apart from just offering our customers a service moving them from point A to point B, we provide them a value-added service that provides additional protection in the course of their trip. We are aware of the crucial role that technology and innovation play in increasing insurance penetration levels and in critical sectors of the economy especially the transport sector. Our collaboration with Britam will help us to address this issue.”

Britam’s Head of Telco & Fintech Partnerships, Simon Wanduga said the partnership with Voltic is well aligned with Britam’s strategy to be a customer centric organization by serving Kenyans who may not have direct access to insurance solutions
