LAGOS, Nigeria, February 10 – Barely a month after launching a data center in South Africa, a global cyberprotection firm, Acronis has opened a similar facility in Lagos, entrenching its foundation and presence in Africa.
The CEO had previously told Capital Business that the firm is planning to launch operations in Kenya in 2022 .
He said that the firm is actively building its presence in Africa with a key focus on areas where its managed service providers (MSPs) have a strong connection.
The new data center gives service provider partners access to a full range of cyber protection solutions upon which they can build new services while delivering faster access, constant data availability, and data sovereignty to their clients.
“The opening of the Nigerian data center is part of the Acronis Global/Local Initiative to provide local service providers a location within the country where they can store business-critical data for their clients,” the firm said in a statement.
During the launch of the center, PeterFrench Regional General Manager Middle East and Africa Acronis emphasized the need for a local presence which he said is a necessity for modern cloud businesses
