Centum CEO James Mworia eulogises chairman as a visionary man

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun 19Centum Investments Chief Executive Officer James Mworia eulogized Dr Kirubi as a visionary man whose focus was not easily impaired by the challenges that may arise when he is working towards a certain goal.

During the memorial service held in Karen Mworia said his faith in winning and accomplishing his goals remained unshaken thus the reason behind the success of some of the projects that have his name written on it.

“Chris was a man of extraordinary vision and resilience, he could call those things were not as they are, that was the faith that built his vision to build new cities such as vipingo in coast, Two Rivers in Nairobi, Almarina in Uganda, all of which he dreamed he could do and built them simultaneously,” said Mworia.

He further described Kirubi as a man who feared God  and that his life and the many people he impacted positively is already a reflection of a man who was serving people under God’s authority, with the skills and talents he was blessed with.

“Some people mistakenly think that Dr Kirubi found God during his illness, the truth is that Chris’s life and works has been a testament of a man who the almighty has blessed with incredible skills and capacity and capacity and who lived his life fulfilling God’s command of carrying on with the work of converting extraordinary talents into new creation,” he added.

The industrialist was also director at Centum Investment was able to fight the disease for a period of four years.

Centum Investment is East Africa’s leading investment company listed on the Nairobi and Uganda Securities Exchange.

Popularly known on the airwaves as DJ CK, Kirubi was named the second richest Kenyan by Forbes in 2011 in a list topped by the family of the country’s founding leader, the late President Jomo Kenyatta.

He also made it to the top 40 ranking of African richest having listed at position 31 with an estimated net worth of $300 million.

Dr Kirubi also chaired Haco Industries Limited, Kiruma International Limited, International House Limited, Nairobi Bottlers Limited, Sandvik East Africa Limited and DHL Kenya.

Dr Kirubi had been battling cancer since 2016.
