Cabinet Approves Sh1bn to Implement Mukuru social housing

NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept 11 – The Cabinet Thursday approved a Sh15 billion project for the implementation of the Mukuru Social Housing Project, the first social housing programme in the country’s history.  

The meeting which was chaired by President Uhuru Kenyatta approved the project which will see over 13,000 housing units built.

The project will be undertaken as a joint venture between the government and private investors.

President Kenyatta has been committal in striving to fulfill his agenda on affordable housing which is part of his administration big four agenda.
