NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 12 – Kenya Airways has suspended its flights on the Rome – Geneva route starting tomorrow 13th March 2020 until 30th April 2020 over coronavirus fears.
In a statement, the national carrier said it has also activated its Crisis Management protocol to proactively address situations as they arise and implement appropriate actions.
Customers who have been affected by the suspension have been advised to rebook on alternative flights while a full refund has been assured to those who choose to cancel their travel.
Last week, KQ suspended flights from northern cities of Milan and Verona.
Italy has borne the brunt of the coronavirus pandemic in Europe, recording 827 deaths and nearly 12,500 infections in slightly over two weeks.
A range of countries has suspended either air, sea or land links with Italy or limited them in various ways.
Italy has put much of its population on lockdown, closing bars, restaurants, and all shops apart from groceries and pharmacies. Several countries have imposed similar if less sweeping measures.
