NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 23-Kenya Commercial Bank has appointed Anne Eriksson as a non-executive director of the Board of KCB Group.

According to the firm’s Group Company Secretary Joseph Kania, Eriksson already started her new role in KCB.

“Anne Eriksson began her new job on December 18, 2019 and she has had experience in the industry for more than 40 years,” said Kania.

Her appointment comes a year after she retired from PricewaterhouseCoopers where she worked as Regional senior partner and CEO for East Africa and Senior Country Partner in Kenya.

Erikson was the first African female to head the consultancy firm where she worked for 40 years.

She also oversaw over 1500 employees in the six African countries while at PWC.

“Anne has led provision of audit and related advisory services to a wide range of regional and local organizations in various sectors,” Kania added.

Eriksson is an alumnus of the UK University of Warwick and the prestigious Alliance Girls High School in Nairobi.

She is also known for advising Audit Committees and Boards on financial reporting and internal control matters, including risk and readiness assessment prior to the implementation of major financial systems and processes.

Additionally, Eriksson also serves in a non-executive director position on several boards, provides financial advice at a strategic level and mentors entrepreneurs.
