NAIROBI, Kenya Dec 5 – Kenyans came together to watch one of their own – Eliud Kipchoge, take on and beat the sub two-hour INEOS 1:59 marathon challenge. Even though it happened in October, the video garnered the most views in Kenya in 2019.
The Ethiopian Airlines B737 MAX crashed after take off en-route to Nairobi from Addis Ababa was the major global aviation story in 2019. Several Kenyans were on the flight and lost their lives.
The Nigerian movie titled no single guy should watch this movie alone , about a man who paid his best friend to help his wife conceive, intrigued many of us and took the third spot on the watchlist.
Kenyans also made viral the gospel song OmbiLangu which was performed during the wedding of a couple named Dan and Lilian, and the video of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s entourage as it left the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters.
Once again in the YouTube Rewind, Mark Angel was in the top 10 with Emmanuella’s theatrics against comic duo Aki and Paw Paw.
In the music category, three of Diamond Platnumz’s videos were loved by Kenyans. Rayvanny’sTetema featuring Diamond Platnumz took the top spot, followed by the very popular Inama in which Diamond featured Congolese music ace FallyIpupa. Kenya’s Willy Paul came third with the song titled Mmmh, featuring Tanzanian Rayvanny. Diamond’s The One and Mbosso’sTamu completed the top five playlist.
