NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul 26 – Kenyan Investors and holiday makers have been urged to consider Mauritius as an investment destination.
Mauritius Tourism Minister Anil Gayan said Kenyans should take advantage of the country’s visa free regime.
Gayan’s invitation comes a week after a meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Mauritius’ Acting President Paramasivum Pillay Vyapoory where the two leaders expressed satisfaction over the implementation of agreements signed between the two countries to boost trade and other areas of cooperation including tourism.
The agreements were signed in April when President Kenyatta was in the island nation for a State visit.
“The relationship between Kenya and Mauritius is wonderful. I am confident that the two countries will continue working together to bolster trade and business between them,” Gayan said.
“We might be a small Island, but I can assure you that we have so much to offer,” he added.
Gayan also extended his invite to holiday makers pointing out that Mauritius is famous for its beautiful beaches, lagoons and reefs.
“Mauritius has amazing beaches and I am aware that you also have Mombasa, but it is good for the two countries to work together to promote Tourism and other interests,” he said
On corruption, Gayan lauded African countries who are determined to fight the vice adding it has negative effect on business and it should be eradicated.
