NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul 10 – Air France-KLM Group and Accor Group, a leading hospitality brand have partnered in an effort to strengthen their loyalty programs. Air France -KLM has the Flying Blue program while Accor Hotels operates the Le Club loyalty program.

This new partnership offers customers more opportunities to earn and redeem their miles and points.

For the fast time in the travel industry, customers will now enjoy a dual reward scheme. Each time a customer flies on an Air France or KLM flight and spends a night at an Accor Hotels, they stand to earn Flying Blue Miles and Le Club AccorHotels reward points, in a reward scheme dubbed Miles + Points.

The dual reward scheme dubbed Miles + Points, a first in the European travel industry, is targeting the airlines’ global customer loyalty base. In addition, they can convert miles to points and vice versa. For example, for 4000 Flying Blue Miles, one can get 1000 reward points or convert 2,000 reward points for 1,000 miles.

Air France-KLM CEO Benjamin Smith says the new partnership with Accor Group allows them to reward customers across more stages of their journey.

“Adding more to add and redeem Flying Blue Miles was a key driver of us developing the Miles + Points program. We aim to position Flying Blue as a leading airline loyalty programme by continuing to enrich the customer journey at every step,” said Smith.

On his part, Mr. Sebastian Bazin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Accor, said the new partnership will benefit the company’s most loyal customers.

“This enhanced loyalty program brings together two formidable players in global tourism and rewrites the rules of loyalty building. The radical transformation of Accor’s lifestyle loyalty program, embodied by the future brand ALL – Accor Live Limitless – will bring to life our “augmented hospitality” strategy,” stated Bazin.

Accor is a global hospitality brand listed at the Paris Stock Exchange. It operates 4,800 hotels, resorts and residences across more than 100 countries and boasts a customer loyalty program with more than 58 million members worldwide.
