NAIROBI, Kenya, May 21 – Davis & Shirtliff, the market leader in water and energy solutions manufactured its twenty thousandth high-rate GRP filter. The original Dayliff high-rate GRP filter was introduced nearly 35 years ago.

“I’ve been fortunate to celebrate many Davis & Shirtliff milestones during my 40 years with the company. However, this one is truly momentous, because after today we will have installed 20,000 water filters all across the country providing safe drinking water and protecting millions of people from water contamination,” said Davis & Shirtliff Group Chairman Alec Davis.

“We’re grateful to all of our customers who have put their trust in the Davis & Shirtliff brand, and to our employees whose dedication has helped us protect so many,” he added.

The familiar yellow tank has become the standard filter fitted to water treatment plants and most swimming pools in the region. The first 10,000 filters according to the company took over 25 years to be produced while the second 10,000 only 7 years owing to new technologies to enhance production capacity.

Available in five diameters and various configurations, the filters are manufactured in the company’s Dundori Road facility and remain very popular in the market.
