Kisumu fastest growing domestic Airport

NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 24 – Kisumu Airport gained the most number of passengers in 2017/2018.

The airport recorded a 40 percent growth of passengers from 89,526 in September 2017/18 to 125,618 in the 2018/2019, according to data released by Kenya Airports Authority.

Moi International Airport followed by with a 16 percent increase in passenger movement to 120,949 from 104,284 during the same period.

Eldoret International Airport saw a 10 percent increase during the month of September to hit 20,791 from 18,888 recorded during the same month last year.

Despite recording an 8.2 percent increase, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport remains the country’s busiest airports, transiting 687,669 passengers in September, from the 635,522 recorded in September 2017.

Mombasa, Dubai and Entebbe are the top destinations by passenger numbers from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Other destinations included in the top ten list Addis Ababa, Amsterdam, Johannesburg, Kisumu, Eldoret, Malindi and Ukunda.
