Kenya Power assures uninterrupted electricity supply amidst arrest of managers

The Board says the company has a proven operational strategy that allows business continuity in the absence of top managers/FILE

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul 16 – Kenya Power Board of Directors has assured that the ongoing investigations and arrest of senior managers will not affect the operations of the electricity distributor.

The Board says the company has a proven operational strategy that allows business continuity in the absence of top managers.

“The Board wishes to reassure members of the public, customers, shareholders, development partners and other stakeholders that operations of the business have not and will not be affected.”

In a statement, Kenya Power has confirmed that senior management staff were summoned by the Director of Criminal Investigation following orders from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions regarding the supply of transformers and labour contracts.

Fourteen current and former senior Kenya Power officials are due in court to answer to charges of abuse of office and committing economic crimes.
