NAIROBI, Kenya, 21 Jul – Majid Al Futtaim, the franchise holder of Carrefour Supermarket, has opened its third store this year at Galleria Mall in Karen, Nairobi.
This is the sixth store that Carrefour is opening in Kenya since May 2016, when it started operations at The Hub in Karen.
“This underscores our commitment to continue availing high quality formal retail outlets in which customers can access quality products at the best prices, all the time,” said Franck Moreau, Country Manager of Carrefour Kenya at Majid Al Futtaim Retail.
The Galleria Shopping Mall is strategically located in close proximity to Karen and Langata residential areas, and is adjacent to Magadi Road, which leads to the populous Ongata Rongai and Kiserian areas.
“Between July and mid-2019, we will operate using the partial selling model, as we undertake refurbishment work and installations that will see the store become a fully-fledged hypermarket of more than 5,000 square metres, with the full range of over 30,000 food and non-food products for sale.”
Majid Al Futtaim currently operates five Carrefour stores in Kenya at The Hub in Karen, Two Rivers Mall, Thika Road Mall, The Junction and Sarit Centre. The retailer has also announced plans to open its first Carrefour Market, its supermarket format, at the Village Market in December.
