21st edition of Buildexpo Africa opens on Thursday

The expo which is in its 21st edition comes at a time the government is focusing on the Big Four Agenda that includes affordable housing and Manufacturing/FILE

NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 30 – The largest construction expo in Kenya is scheduled for this weekend and has attracted exhibitors from more than 40 countries.

The expo dubbed Buildexpo Africa will be held from May 3 to 5 at the Kenyatta International Convention Center with top industry professionals such as builders, developers, architects, consultants, engineers, manufacturers, importers and distributors showcasing their latest products.

The expo which is in its 21st edition comes at a time the government is focusing on the Big Four Agenda that includes affordable housing and Manufacturing.

Countries dominant this year include Germany, China, India and Italy with several leading international brands looking to build a solid foundation in the East African market.

Some of the brands expected include MetallurgicaAbruzzese S.P.A. (Italy), Bauer MaschinenGmbh, MbkMaschinenbauGmbh(Germany), MasaGmbh (Germany) Everest Industries Limited (India), Jet Granito Pvt. Ltd (India), Roser Co., Ltd (Korea), and Nordimpianti System Srl (Italy).

Another 50 plus companies from Kenya such as Apex Steel, Davis & Shirtliff, Elite Tools Ltd, Matrix Precast, Tononoka Steel, Hytek Hydraulics, Formscaff, and Digital City will also grace the expo.

“As the mediators of the economic development in East Africa, we are extremely excited that our business community and relevant stakeholders are now taking full advantage of such platforms created for their growth opportunities through their active participation,” said Regional Marketing Director, Exposure Events and Publication, Duncan Njage.
