Safaricom kicks off Sh300Mn promotion campaign to award 5 million customers

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 12 – Safaricom has hidden 10 briefcases with cash prizes across 10 towns to award winners as part of a Sh300 million, 11-week consumer promotion campaign that kicks off today.

The Shinda Mamili na Tunukiwa promotion includes the treasure hunt where residents of Nairobi, Eldoret, Nakuru, Machakos, Kakamega, Kisumu, Mombasa, Garissa, Meru and Nyeri stand a chance to win an undisclosed amount inside the briefcases.

Other prizes that are up for grabs include School Fees vouchers, motorcycles, Neon Smartphones and cash prizes among others.

Director of Consumer Business Unit Sylvia Mulinge said the promotion is an initiative that is part of Safaricom’s vision to transform the lives of Kenyans.

“We truly believe in the power of coming together to benefit Kenya, which is why we are pleased to announce the Shinda Mamili na Tunukiwa promotion to reward all Kenyans,” Mulinge said.

To participate in the promotion, customers will be required to secure Tunikiwa offers by dialing *444#. They will then be awarded entry points ranging from 10 points for daily bundles up to 500 points for monthly bundles each time they purchase an offer.

The promotion, which aims to reward 5 million customers, is open to both post pay and prepay customers and will run from 12th January to 27th March 2018.
