Huawei partners with Jumia Kenya to unveil Mate 10

NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 22 – Huawei Mobile has launched the Mate 10 series in partnership with Jumia Kenya where the new devices will be available exclusively on the online retailer for two weeks before it gets into the retail stores across the country.

The new Huawei Mate 10 mobile devices features a 64B memory and will retail at Sh79,999 and Mate 10 pro that comes with 128GB memory prices at Sh89,999.

Other features include a 4000 mAh high-density battery with a smart power management system that understands user behavior and intelligently allocates resources to maximize battery life.

The device powers from 1 percent to 20 percent in 10 minutes and from 1 percent to 58 percent in 30 minutes, according to Huawei Senior Director, Public Affairs, Adam Lane.

“The Huawei Mate 10 series is a device that gives users a seamless experience. A key feature is the artificial intelligence processor that is adaptable to surroundings making the phone stand out in this competitive market,” says Adam.

Huawei is banking on its powerful Kirin 970 processors which claims to be the world’s first AI processor for smartphones allowing users to enjoy capabilities such as accelerated translator of up to 50 languages.

The Mate 10 comes with the world’s first dual 4G SIM support and dual VoLTE connections.

In addition to exploring online distribution channels like Jumia, Huawei says it intends to increase market share through strategic partnerships with Mobile Network Operators, Device retailers and distributors.

The Huawei Mate 10 series will also be available in Safaricom shops and other open market stores across the country.
