Most widespread expression online? laughing to tears and kisses, Facebook reveals

NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 4The world is a happy place if a list of the world’s most popular emojis is anything to go by.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has revealed the top 10 most used emojis on the social network that now has 2 billion users per month.

The ‘laugh cry’ face emoji is the most popular emoji on Facebook which now boasts of 2 billion users per month. The emoji is also the most used on Twitter, WhatsApp and other social media sites.

The ‘heart eyes’ emoji is the second most popular, followed by the ‘kissing face’ emoji.

Other popular emojis include the rolling on the floor laughing emoji and the smilling emoji.

The round up of popular emojis on the World Emoji Day comes at a time when Zuckerberg has revealed data on its social media platform.

Facebook has more than 1.3 billion people using the social network every day, while 100 million people across the world are in meaningful Facebook groups.

“We’ve set a goal to help 1 billion people join groups that become a meaningful part of their lives both online and in the physical world, and the last month we rolled out new tools to help people start and grow communities on Facebook,” he wrote on his Facebook account.

Instagram has 250 million stories uploaded on its portal daily while 2 billion messages are sent between people and business each month.

“We’re going to keep improving and giving you more ways to share. As always, it’s an honor to be on this journey with you,” Zuckerberg wrote.
