NAIROBI, Kenya, July 26 – An initiative to boost trade between East and West Africa is starting to bear fruit following a visit to Kenya by President Dramani Mahama of Ghana in 2014.
The trade volumes have remained low due to high freight costs, tariff barriers and lack of a deliberate push by both countries.
But with a bi-annual trade expo hosted in Nairobi and Accra, trade between the two countries has seen been increasing although more needs to be done to leverage on the immense opportunities in both countries.
Leah Nduati, the founder of Kenya Trade Expo – Ghana, explains why Kenyan business people should consider expanding to Ghana.
