Solar solutions provider to open 20 stores in Kenya

NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 17 – A Germany-based provider of smart solar solutions Mobisol, has announced plans to open 20 more stores in Kenya providing the rural market with off-grid solar systems.

Mobisol’s East Africa’s Chief Executive Officer Henrik Axelsson says the firm is banking on Kenya’s economy that is growing best compared to its peers in sub-Saharan Africa.

“Kenya’s economy is growing rapidly, and with our top-notch technology, off-grid households in Kenya can finally afford home and business solar systems, and enjoy a modern and comfortable lifestyle, improve their economic well-being and also set new standards for worldwide sustainability,” said Axelsson.

Axelsson noted that the company has invested heavily in innovation and research to enable customers access comprehensive user experience, adding that the stores would enable them have a personal touch with customers for all-inclusive economic development.

Mobisol’s solar systems come complete with several ultra-efficient LED light sets, portable lantern, mobile phone charger kit, large high-performance flat-screen LED TVs up to sizes of 32″, portable radio and balance-of-system components including wiring and switches.

Customers get a three-year flexible payment plan via mobile money as well as extended warranties, free installation and free maintenance for three years.

Mobisol which launched in Kenya in 2016, services over 70,000 households in Rwanda and Tanzania.
