NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 9 – Supermarket chain Nakumatt has opened a new branch along Mombasa Road, Nairobi, making the store its 63rd store in East Africa.
The new branch located at NextGen Mall sits on 60,000 square feet of space and will tap customers from the growing Mombasa road areas of South B, South C and Diamond park.
Nakumatt Holdings Managing Director Atul Shah said the firm is at an advanced stage to open its 64th branch in Kigali, Rwanda as part of a strategy to boost its top line revenues and enhance service delivery.
“We will continue to push on with our growth and expansion plans across the region in our quest to enhance value for our customers, staff, and supply partners. Our values lie in ensuring that our customers enjoy convenience as well as a variety of high-quality goods, and this Next Gen store also marks a change in the way we want our new stores to look going forward,” said Shah.
The new branch will provide customers with a wide variety of goods from fresh counters, groceries, household items, electronics, baby and toys.
The supermarket is projecting a 34 percent growth during the festive season boosted by discounts and promotions.
