Your bedding is almost as important as your mattress mostly because it dictates comfort and sets the overall tone of your bedroom. Colorful and tasteful bedding is one of the ways to add character to your room. Because sleep is so important in our lives, nothing beats a good night’s rest and your beddings form an integral part of that. As you plan to revamp your bedroom and bedding collection, keep this in mind:
Comforter, Duvet Cover or Quilt
These are the most noticeable of all bed linens, apart from being comfortable; they should also reflect your personal style. Comforters are usually filled with natural or synthetic material, natural material is better at trapping heat to keep you warm all night. Most quality duvets and comforters are based on tog rating and filling. A Duvet Cover is essentially a pillow case for your comforter, usually secured at the end by pulls, buttons or zippers. They can easily be taken off and washed.
Most sheet sets include a fitted sheet, a loose one and 2 pillow cases. They can be made out of anything from satin to flannel to cotton. The softness of cotton sheets can be measured by thread count – the higher the thread count the softer the sheets will be.
Pillows and throws
Choosing a pillow can make or break your sleep, the best way to know which one works best for you is to try a few options and pick the one that works best for you. Fill material, cover material, support and size are all important considerations.
You work hard for your money so you should be able to enjoy a good night’s sleep after a long day. Remember to change out your bedding every so often so as to not accumulate dust and to maintain overall cleanliness.
