Do you define the Kenyan middleclass?

When it comes to clothing, the scenario is almost the same. The poor will be interested in clothing that is, ‘valued for individual style and expression of personality’; the middleclass will be interested in clothing that is, ‘valued for quality and acceptance. Label important’ while the rich will be interested in clothing that is ‘valued for artistic sense and expression. Designer important’.

And that is not all.

The chart would go on to describe how the different classes view family structures with the poor class tending to be matriarchal, the middleclass patriarchal and the rich making the decision depending on who has the money.

Even their driving force was put under scrutiny; the poor’s driving force is based on survival, relationships and entertainment, the middleclass’ driving force is work and achievement while that of the rich is financial, political and social connections.

Are you one of people classified as middleclass? Based on the information above, where do you fall? Tell us below.
