ABIDJAN, Ivory Coast, Mar 21 – Deputy President William Ruto is in Abidjan, Ivory Coast to represent President Uhuru Kenyatta at the Africa CEO Forum.

Speaking on arrival at the Felix Houphoute Boiny International Airport on Sunday evening, Ruto said the conference provides an important platform for African governments to engage with the private sector in growing their economies and reducing poverty on the continent.

“The forum will make it easier to understand the issues faced by the private sector which are engines of growth in the continent,” he said.

Ruto noted that high economic growth has been evident in countries where Governments have successfully collaborated with the private sector adding it was imperative to encourage such interaction as one way of sustaining that growth.

The Deputy President will be a keynote speaker at the Africa CEO Forum that seeks to find solutions to the global economic challenges that put average economic growth in Africa at 3.75 percent in 2015 after a decade of accelerated growth.
