NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 17 – If you thought you had your dose of new Smartphones available in the Kenyan market, think again.
Global manufacturer of electronics Samsung Electronics, has unveiled two of its latest models from its Galaxy family; Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.
The entry of the highly anticipated devices into the Kenyan market is a significant one as it is the company’s first stop on the continent.
What the devices give you:
According to Samsung Electronics East Africa, the newly launched devices come in refined designs; have a more advanced camera and streamlined software functionality.
Broken down, the devices which measure 5.1-inch (S7) and 5.5-inch (S7 edge) are made with 3D glass and metal and are water and dust resistant.
The pair also introduces the first dual pixel camera on a Smartphone, which according to the company will guarantee users brighter and sharper images even in low light.
“Thanks to the revolutionary dual pixel technology, brighter lens with wider aperture and bigger pixel, the camera has a faster shutter speed and a more accurate autofocus even in low light conditions,” Samsung Electronics East Africa Managing Director Jung Hyun Park said.
The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge also come with a dual SIM option which also allows users to insert a microSD card for up to 200GB of additional storage.
To cater to the gaming community among its users, Samsung also made significant hardware and software updates to optimize gaming performance on the pair.
“The power processer and bigger battery capacity ensure longer playing time, and internal cooling system keeps the device from overheating. Additionally, users can record their gaming experience or share their screen to play with others,” Park said.
The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge hit stores starting March 17, 2016 and will be available in three colours which include black, gold and silver.
