Twitter suffers global outage

Twitter down

Twitter users have been unable to access the service on web and mobile for the last few hours due to what the social media platform says is a technical issue. Twitter API was also inaccessible from 9am with users getting ‘over capacity’ error messages which later changed to ‘performance issues.’

A status report issued by Twitter on tumbler states, “some users are currently experiencing problems accessing Twitter. We are aware of the issue and are working towards a resolution.”

Downrightnow.com, a platform that monitors the status of top web services, says Twitter is likely experiencing service disruption.

This is the longest continous outage Twitter has experienced since July 2015 when Twitter went offline for 24 minutes.
