The Galaxy S6 edge+ with 64GB will retail at Sh99,999 while the 32GB will go for Sh89,999.
“The technology that Samsung has deployed on this device is a result of current market needs and rapidly changing lifestyles of Smartphone users who have an appetite for information and content,” Samsung East Africa Vice President Robert Ngeru said during the launch on Wednesday.
The S6 edge+ with 32GB or 64GB storage options are available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium all in Samsung Experience stores and authorized dealers.
With increased 4GB RAM, the Galaxy S6 edge+ enables users to enjoy more seamless multi-tasking, keep up with messages, post updates to social networks faster, and enjoy graphic-heavy games without suffering lag time.
The Galaxy S6 edge+ features the new ‘apps edge’ for easy access to favourite apps, and enhanced ‘people edge’ for easy communications with preferred contacts.
From the edge screen, users can quickly find their pre-set contacts and send message or give a call directly.
“Functionality and easy to use capabilities continue to form the core of Samsung’s design philosophy. The S6 edge+ represent the barriers we continue to push in order to create new technologies and enhance user experiences particularly for emerging markets like Kenya,” Ngeru said.
The Galaxy S6 edge+ also feature 4K(UHD) video filming and Live Broadcast, which lets users instantly live streams full HD video straight from the phone to any individual, group of contacts, or even the public through YouTube Live.
Anyone who receives the YouTube link from a Galaxy S6 edge+ user is able to enjoy live stream video from his or her Smartphone, tablet, PC or Smart TV with YouTube connectivity.
The Galaxy S6 edge+ feature Samsung’s fast wired and wireless charging technology and the embedded wireless charging technology is compatible with virtually any wireless pad available today.
With wired charging, the device can be fully charged in approximately 90 minutes, and through Samsung’s latest wireless charger, it can be fully charged in approximately 120 minutes.
