NAIROBI, Kenya, May 6 – Kenya will host a regional Pan African Congress that will bring together representatives from the East African Community, Ethiopia, Eritrea, South Sudan, Somalia and Djibouti.

President Uhuru Kenyatta today directed the Attorney General Prof Githu Muigai to work with the secretariat of the Pan African Congress to ensure the meeting is held in the third quarter of the year.

The directive was issued after the President held talks with Ugandan Minister for Justice (Rtd) Maj Gen Kahinda Otafire who also doubles as the chairman of the Pan African Movement.

Botswana will host the Southern Africa Pan Africa Congress, Congo will host for central Africa and Ghana for Western Africa.

The regional congresses will culminate in the 9th Pan African Congress that will be held next year.

The 8th Pan African Congress was hosted by Ghana while the 7th was held in Kampala, Uganda.
