The Kenya Association of Manufacturers – the representative organization for manufacturing Value – add Industries in Kenya is seeking to competitively fill the following position:-
ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE OFFICER, ENERGY SERVICES
Designation: Assistant Executive Officer, Energy Services
Reporting to: The Coordinator, Centre for Energy Efficiency and Conservation
Job Purpose: To deliver and expand the scope of energy efficiency and renewable energy integration in enterprises and ensure climate change issues receive the requisite attention including assisting enterprises develop comprehensive resource management programme.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Jointly with Energy Services Executive Officers, provide key support on energy efficiency for the benefit of industry and other target sectors;
2. Provide technical advice on issues related to firm level energy efficiency and other resources management including water/waste water and raw materials utilization;
3. Advise and Lobby for the provision of affordable and reliable electricity for industrial consumers;
4. Liaise with the Association of Large Electricity Consumers (AOLEC) to ensure concerns of the greater KAM membership are represented to the Government; 5. Assist the CEEC team with advocacy, consulting, and management services to renewable and clean energy industry developers to ensure enterprises adopt low carbon /green growth initiatives in their operations;
6. Conduct various Energy Efficiency related studies and analytical documentation of the study results;
7. Assist industry to link up with Energy service providers to facilitate energy audits and support implementation of energy efficiency projects in their facilities;
8. Organise and facilitate meetings with relevant committees/councils and ensuring follow up of agreed actions;
9. Any other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Executive and / or the Coordinator – CEEC.
Requirements:
University degree in Environmental or Energy Engineering from a recognized institution;
CEM Certification will be an added advantage;
Energetic, self-motivated professional committed to promoting clean and renewable energy technologies;
Familiarity with current renewable energy generation, including wind, solar, bio-mass, etc;
Good background in project development – areas of energy efficiency and/or renewable energy; Able to understand electric utility rates and determine best practices for renewable energy installations;
Minimum 5 years of professional working experience;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Effective organizational skills, team player and attentive to detail;
Knowledge of the manufacturing industry.
