NAIROBI, Kenya, May 26 – The Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission has recommended closure of a file against officials of the Kenya Airports Authority.

Engineer Stephen Gichuki, John Thumbi, Philemon Chamwada and Allan Muturi were being investigated for abuse of office.

They were also alleged to have failed to comply with provisions of the Public Procurement and Disposal Act and Regulations.

They allegedly failed to observe other statutory provisions in the procurement of the proposed Greenfield Terminal Project.

Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko is expected to make his decision following recommendations by the EACC to close the file.

In another case, the EACC wants Embu County Secretary Margaret Lorna Kariuki and other officials in county charged with several criminal offences.

Kariuki and three other officials allegedly awarded contracts for the rehabilitation of Embu Municipal Stadium and failed to follow the correct procurement procedures.

EACC also recommended that Joseph Tevulo and five other officials in Trans Nzoia County be charged for awarding a tender for the renovation of Kenyatta Stadium in Kitale irregularly.

Earlier on Tuesday, EACC recommended that Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko be referred to the Senate for disciplinary action.

The commission also asked the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to probe allegations levelled against him further.
