Safaricom to reconsider data expiry – Collymore

The new tariffs, which are set to take effect from Thursday will see transaction fees reduced by up to 67 percent in the low and medium tiered bands which include the transfer of amounts ranging between Sh10 and Sh1,500/FILE

Collymore says his team is looking at some options

Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore has indicated the telco will reconsider its decision to limit users rolling over their data to the following month. In a tweet posted Monday, Collymore appears to be responding to users who have complained about the policy.

“Ok I’ve heard you on the data bundle expiry issue & have asked the team to urgently look at some options,” reads part of the tweet.

Safaricom also introduced a 20 MB cap on data bundle transfers at a time when data appears to be the new battlefront between operators.
