NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 7 – The Nairobi based communications agency, Ogilvy & Mather Africa, has been named as the Network Agency of the Year at the just concluded African Cristal Festival 2014 held in Marrakech, Morocco.

The festival, which is the premier pan African summit for marketing and communications professionals also saw Ogilvy & Mather Africa picking two other top honours in the Festival Grand Cristal and the Advertisers’ Grand Cristal.

Following on the continental agency’s win, Ogilvy& Mather Kenya also emerged as the runners-up Agency of the Year.

At the winner’s podium, O&M Africa finished ahead of leading continental agencies including second placed JWT Africa Group, DDB Africa Group, Publicis Africa Group and McCann South Africa respectively.

Speaking after receiving news of the win, the CEO of Ogilvy & Mather Africa Nadja Bellan-White said that the multiple wins boretestimony of the firm’s leadership position in the African communications space.

“We are greatly honoured by this recognition from our peers in the industry. At Ogilvy & Mather Africa, we are driven to deliver work that not only stands out, but delivers on our clients business challenges as well,” Bellan- White added.

Ogilvy & Mather Africa is the premiere 360 marketing and communications agencies in Africa with footprint in 27 countries across the continent.

Among the panel of 13 judges led by the Chief jurist Danny Searle who is also the Vice Chairman and Chief Creative Officer at BBDO Asia. Other jurists included Kenya’s John “KJ” Kiarie, Nigeria’s Chima Okenimkpe and Tunisia’s Nizar Maalej among others.

The annual African Cristal Festival features seminars and workshops facilitated by industry leaders from all over the world.

It also brings together the media and communication industry in Africa to network and to promote regional culture through dedicated competitions, conferences and debates.
