NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 3 – Davide Bertilaccio has been appointed area general manager for the Fairmont Kenya collection of hotels – Fairmont The Norfolk, Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club and Fairmont Mara Safari Club.

Bertilaccio will be responsible for the performance and operations of three iconic Kenyan hotels, which collectively includes 290 guestrooms and suites, 51 luxury tents, and over 10 food and beverage outlets.

Prior to this appointment, Bertilaccio was responsible for the management and rebranding of the Mövenpick Hotel Casablanca, in Morocco.

He also worked with the group in 2011, where he re-launched the Mövenpick Hotel, Gammarth in Tunisia, which features 119 guestroom and suites over six acres, four restaurants and lounges.

Senior Vice President, Operations for Fairmount Raffles Hotels International Sami Nasser said that his appointment will help build brand recognition in Kenya and leverage regional footprint into Africa.

“His operational experience in leading markets and destinations will set the groundwork for new initiatives within this collection of landmark hotels.” Nasser said.

He said that Bertilaccio brings a wealth of experience to this position with a career spanning over 25 years across four continents where he has held executive level positions within luxury hospitality companies, including Armani Hotels & Resorts, the Rocco Forte Collection and Four Seasons.
