NAIROBI, Kenya, July 24 – Samsung Electronics East Africa has added the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom to its portfolio of products in Kenya.

This is a camera-specialised smartphone that blends advanced digital camera technology with the Samsung’s Galaxy devices.

The Samsung Galaxy K Zoom represents a new category of camera-specialised smartphones that balances performance with a heavy focus on the camera system to offer a better picture and video experience compared to other smartphone devices.

“With the growth in popularity of social media and content sharing among smartphone users, we develop innovative devices that blend the best of smartphone and camera features, because our research has shown that users are no longer content with having to choose between the two,” Samsung Electronics Mobile Director, Manoj Changarampatt said.

He says the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom is the only camera-specialised smartphone in the market that comes equipped with 10x optical zoom and a 20.7megapixel camera which works in low-light shooting environments.

The retracting lens technology makes it much slimmer than its predecessor – the Samsung Galaxy Zoom – making it less bulky to handle and endearing it to users who want to carry it in their pockets like they would an ordinary smartphone.

Equipped with the Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) functionality, the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom is able to reduce the blur caused by camera movement during exposure, a feature that comes in handy in low light, when zooming in and when recording videos.

Additionally, the new device integrates advanced camera usability features and functions, including auto exposure/auto focus separation for the precise balance of light and clarity, next-generation pro suggest mode which offers 10 optimised filter settings, selfie alarm that allows users to take timed selfies with ease, and object tracking for a clear, focused shot of a moving subject.

“With the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom we present a fully functional smartphone and powerful camera in one slim, sleek device, allowing our users to enjoy the benefits of a great Samsung smart phone with a fantastic camera that is not only easy to use, but is also portable and light,” Changarampatt said.

The Samsung Galaxy K Zoom will be available in Samsung brand shops and leading dealers countrywide.
