If you are like a growing majority of Kenyans who spend more time online than watching TV, then you probably know that you can spend hours online watching funny videos on YouTube or waste away hours on Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites. But exactly how much time do we spend online and which sites do we usually visit? One Swedish agency has created a Chrome and Firefox plugin that analyzes your browser history to see how you spend your week on the internet.
“Surfkollen checks your online habits, from which sites your visit the most; to what day of the week you do it. The outcome is a Surf Selfie that summarizes your weekly onlince activity,” explains the Surfkollen website.
The tool was developed initially for a Swedish University which wanted to show prospective students that studying IT is not complicated by showing how much time users spend online.
“A frequent user may well qualify for studying IT at Nackademin college. However, the service has gained a lot of interest from users and has developed into a stand-alone service as a nice way to map out your online behaviour,” Rodolfo’s Ludwig Jonsson told Fast Create.
