Often overlooked, preparing your home for sale is an important part of the selling process. Many buyers purchase at face value and may not perceive the potential homes they view, so you need to make this as easy as possible for them.

It’s therefore a simpler exercise to present a more appealing package that a broader market will warm to. First impressions and small details count when potential buyers are viewing your home which is why we’ve put together a few tips to make sure that your home attracts a buyer at first sight:

Kerb Appeal: Make sure that all exterior paintwork is in good condition, flower beds and lawns are trimmed and weed-free, roof and gutters are in good repair and the front entrance is clean and inviting. Group pot plants together and add a fresh lick of paint to the pots if necessary.

Driveway, Garages and Carport: Ensure that the garage door is in good working order, the garage neat and tidy and grease or oil marks removed.

Patios and Stoeps: Enhance this area with attractive outdoor furniture. Cut back creepers, which prevent light from entering adjoining rooms and keep all steps clear.

Swimming Pools: A sparkling clean pool makes a great impression, so consider calling in experts to have the pool treated to ensure it’s in tip top shape.
