NAKUMATT-UKAYKAMPALA, Uganda, Oct 13 -Regional retailer Nakumatt Holdings has opened its fifth branch in Uganda as part of its strategic expansion and market development plans.

The opening of the Sh380.4 million Nakumatt Village Hypermarket at the new Village Mall, Bugolobi is part of the retailer’s regional expansion programme and is expected to set the pace for the opening of yet another branch -Nakumatt Katwe- next week at the Muganzirwaza Shopping centre in Katwe, Kampala.

Speaking during the opening ceremony in Bugolobi, Nakumatt Holdings Managing Director Atul Shah disclosed that plans are at advanced stage to facilitate the opening of two more branches in Uganda at the Lakeside town of Entebbe and Kisementi in coming weeks.

“At Nakumatt Holdings, we are encouraged by the steps taken by the East Africa Community members and we shall continue to play our part to ensure that the current dream for a common market and community is realized,” Shah explained.
