David Bailey ditches camera for Nokia Lumia 1020 smartphone

David Bailey

Photography legends David Bailey and Bruce Weber have ditched their cameras in favour of Nokia Lumia 1020 smartphones.

The pair have joined forces for a unique collaboration of images capturing the spirit and soul of Harlem, New York – but they have swapped their expensive cameras for a Nokia Lumia 1020 smartphone and a Nokia Camera Grip.

The free exhibition will take place in Nicholls & Clarke Building in Shoreditch, east London, and David is delighted about the spectacular pictures being put on display in his home district.

He said: “I was born in east London so it is great that this exhibition will be given its global debut a stone’s throw away from where I first started making pictures.

The exhibition shows how you can blow up the images we have made on the Nokia Lumia 1020 as big as a professional digital camera.”
