A litre of kerosene has gone up with the highest margin of Sh4.44 per litre to retail at Sh83.93 in Nairobi.

The commission maintains an SMS-based inquiry system for petroleum prices where the public can obtain the latest petroleum prices in major towns by sending a short message to 0707 667623.

“Consumers are also requested to be vigilant in reporting non-compliant retailers to the authorities for necessary legal action. The commission has installed a hotline (0708 444000),” ERC said.

In July the price of Super petrol in Nairobi went up by Sh1.34, capping the retail price at Sh109.53, diesel by Sh3.70 to Sh102.86. However Kerosene dropped by Sh2.30 to Sh79.49.
