Samsung unveils the world’s first and largest UHD TV


The Kenyan, home entertainment scene is among select global markets set to gain access to the world’s first and largest Ultra High-Definition (UHD) Television.

In a strategic global marketing campaign in specific key markets, Samsung Electronics has moved to unveil the stunning 85-inch Samsung UHD TV S9 model to celebrate the discerning Samsung clientele in Kenya.

Speaking when he confirmed the launch of the Samsung UHD TV S9, Samsung Electronics East Africa General Manager, Allan Oyier disclosed that the TV, which is the most premium in the local market will retail at an introductory kshs 3.7million price.

The 85-inch Samsung UHD TV S9, which features a distinct gallery-inspired design, Oyier said delivers a crisp, clear picture and will be available at select Nakumatt stores and at the Samsung Brandstore at Mayfair Suites, along Parklands Road.

“With the proprietary Samsung up-scaling engine, the Samsung UHD TV up-converts HD or Full HD picture to UHD-level quality by restoring detail to create greater precision and real-life picture quality,” Oyier explained. He further stressed that: “Whether you’re catching your favourite TV drama or the latest movie on Blu-ray, you’ll be immersed in the most stunning picture possible.”

Design wise, the Samsung UHD TV S9 embodies a timeless gallery design, emulating an artistic piece. The design eliminates the rigid expectations of most technology to create a beautiful product that symbolizes harmony.

With the Samsung Precision Black Pro technology, the S9 is able to deliver enhanced contrast with deeper, more realistic blacks and purer whites. Together with Micro Dimming Ultimate, which enhances picture quality with threefold adjustment – optimization of contrast, colours and details, the S9000 displays unprecedented picture quality and presents users with a detail-rich viewing experience that exceeds Full HD TVs.

With the unveiling of the Samsung UHD TV S9, Samsung Electronics is reaching out to discerning consumers, seeking to transform their home entertainment experience into one that is not only of high display quality, but also interactive, with features such as voice control, motion control and face recognition all supported on the latest user Interface.
