Emirates appoints new EA head

Prior to his new posting, Jaflah was Emirates’ Vice President for Commercial Sales in charge of United Arab Emirates.

NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept 7 – Emirates, one of the world’s fastest growing airlines, has appointed Khalid bel Jaflah, as Vice President East Africa, replacing Essa Sulaiman Ahmad who has since moved to the position of Vice President India and Nepal.

Prior to his new posting, Jaflah was Emirates’ Vice President for Commercial Sales in charge of United Arab Emirates.

Announcing the new appointments, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive Emirates Airline & Group said these changes in management will help Emirates meet its demanding growth trajectory.

“As part of their new appointments these managers will be tasked with seeking out new commercial opportunities and driving revenue growth in our existing markets. I am confident that their tenacity to achieve will serve each of them well in their new roles.”

Emirates also appointed Majid Al Mualla, as Senior Vice President Commercial Operations GCC, Middle East and Iran; Ahmed Khoory as Senior Vice President Commercial Operations West Asia and Indian Ocean; Salem Obaidalla as Senior Vice President Commercial Operations Far East and Australasia; Richard Jewsbury as Senior Vice President Commercial Europe and Russian Federation; and Badr Abbas as Vice President Commercial UAE.

As part of the changes the airline has also promoted Orhan Abbas to Senior Vice President Commercial Operations The Americas; and Khalid Bardan, to Vice President for Pakistan and Afghanistan.
