Airtel customers to pay for KAPS parking fees with Airtel Money

Airtel Money is now offering its customers more convenience through the launch of a three year exclusive partnership with KAPS that will see Airtel customers pay for their parking fees via Airtel Money.

“Airtel is focused on delivering innovative world-class mobile solutions. This partnership will enable our customers to pay for their parking fees quickly and conveniently. We are delighted to be able to offer our Airtel Money customers access to this service through our partners KAPS hoping that it will change the way our customers currently pay for their parking fees by making it an easier, faster and more convenient experience wherever they use the KAPS parking services.” said Mr. Shivan Bhargava, Managing Director, Airtel Kenya.

KAPS, established 12 years ago has since pioneered automation in out sourced revenue collection in Kenya and the region. The company is currently the clear leader in vehicle and people access management, traffic automation and electronic ticketing. KAPS’ has built strong operational capabilities as well as technology leadership anchored by its dedicated Research, Design and development team.

KAPS managing director Mr. Samuel Kahiga said, “KAPS has now partnered with Airtel to introduce a revolutionary cashless medium for paying, not only your parking fees at Nairobi’s premier malls, but also other ticketing services which are available in our ticketing portal, www.kapstickets.com. We are very excited about this partnership and hope to launch the same service to other regions in the country.”

The service is readily available at 6 KAPS managed parkings in Nairobi; Capital Center, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Yaya Center, Junction, Sarit Center and Westgate. To access the service a customer will send the 9 digit code that is on the KAPS parking ticket to 113. The customer will receive a message from KAPS notifying them of the amount to pay. Payment is complete once the customer sends money to the pay bill business name KAPS from the Airtel money menu.

Airtel Kenya managing director Mr. Shivan Bhargava emphasized that Airtel Kenya believes in the delivery of innovative and relevant solutions that make life easier for its customers by providing convenient and easy to use communication and mobile commerce products and services. He added that the company will also put emphasis on the education of its customers on the benefits of using Airtel Money mobile commerce solutions emphasizing that the product that uses the Kiswahili tagline ‘pesa mkononi’ literally translated to mean “Airtel money puts money into your hands” will continue to offer locally relevant and simplified solutions that its Kenya consumers can readily relate to in their daily lives in our true spirit; our true Kenyan spirit.

The service access points to Airtel Money has also been made easier with the increase and build up of an extensive agent network that include all Nakumatt Branches countrywide, all Uchumi and selected Posta branches, Faulu branches, Pesa point ATMs, selected Equity Agent outlets where customers can now top up and withdraw cash from their Airtel Money accounts.
