NAIROBI, Kenya, April 16 – Colgate-Palmolive has moved to strengthen its market share in Kenya with the launch of a new Protex soap variant.

The growing consumer preference for anti-bacterial products with natural remedies in the Personal Care Category has driven Colgate-Palmolive to add the new Protex-Propolis bar soap variant to its range.

In the Kenyan market, Protex enjoys strong brand heritage and loyalty as a superior anti- bacterial soap that has been trusted by consumers for over 40years.

Speaking during the launch of the new Protex Propolis soap, Protex Regional Brand Manager, Susan Munga, disclosed that the new variant will offer consumers superior protection inspired by nature.

“Even as we launch Protex Propolis, Colgate-Palmolive is also actively setting out to enhance our retail trade partners capacity to enable them grow their business while providing superior customer care services,” Munga said.

And added: “our partnership is particularly geared at facilitating mutual business growth through market development plans that focus on customer delivery standards.”

Protex contains Propolis which is a natural substance that bees gather from tree buds and other botanical sources to protect their hives.

Scientifically, Bee Propolis is rich in: Vitamin A (carotene), Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Biotin, an array of bioflavonoids, Albumin, Calcium, Magnesium, Iron, Zinc, Silica, Potassium, Phosphorus, Manganese, Cobalt, copper. Propolis remains active against bacteria, viruses, and fungi and hence provides long lasting protection.
