The offer is available to prepaid customers for one month starting Feb 1 until February 2012.
To qualify, customers will only need to pay for the first three SMS to any Airtel number, charged at one shilling per SMS.
The free SMS between Airtel to Airtel subscribers are valid for a day.
The customers will enjoy the SMS automatically after sending the three SMS.
Airtel Kenya chief operating officer Shivan Bhargava said: “This offer gives our texting community the opportunity to get more and communicate more with their mates strengthening bonds between friends and families across the Kenya.”
This launches on the back of the Changamsha Maisha na Airtel Friendzy promotion that ended on Tuesday, a promotion in which over 2,000 Airtel customers were rewarded with a range of prizes including Sh1 million and Sh500,000 cash awards, Samsung handsets, trips to Old Trafford to watch soccer games at Manchester United and free SMS top up.
Airtel is also currently running a popular night calling campaign dubbed Sikika na bob, a promotion that offers its customers a preferential rate to call other customers within the network for Sh1/- per minute from 10pm to 6am.
