P Unit endorse HP ‘beats by Dre’

(Ken Macharia) Hip-hop group, P Unit, will be endorsing HP products this Christmas season as part of HP and Microsoft’s customer awareness campaign dubbed “Get your Beat ON”.

The campaign will be rewarding customer’s loyalty by giving buyers of HP products a chance to win a laptop and a Beats by Dre headset.

In addition, for every HP product purchased from the authorised participating retail outlets, a customer gets a free Microsoft Africa pack.

P-Unit joins a string of international artistes who’ve endorsed the in-ear and over-ear headphones, as well as beats audio computer technology used by HP. Apart from Dr. Dre, other notable endorsements include David Guetta, Alicia Keys, Justin Bieber, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Lebron James and Lady Gaga.

The headphones have crystal crisp sound and the bass is amplified to enhance user experience.

The “Beats Solo HD,” is a high-definition on-air headphone, while the Pro model is an over-the-ear DJ headphone targeted towards the professional DJ market, and the wireless headphones utilize Bluetooth technology to transmit sound.

The original “Beatbox” and the “Studio headphone”, released in 2008, are the initial Dr Dre innovations which incorporate stunning features such as compact speakers, iPod dock, 3.5mm stereo jack, high-power digital amplifier and powered noise-cancelling.

The up-coming “Beats Executive” is expected to improve on these earlier headphones with advanced noise-cancellation and auto-off features as well as a brushed-aluminium finish and leather headband.

The laptops on showcase during the campaign include Envy17, Pavillion Series: DM4, DV 6, DV 7; which are all available in HP retail partner stores. The versions come with Microsoft Office starter 2010, though the ad-supported programs have limited functionality for viewing, editing and creating documents.
