Huawei launches IDEOS tablet in Kenya

April 21, 2011 – After the success of the IDEOS phone in the Kenyan market, Huawei has today introduced the IDEOS S7 Tablet.

At a cost of just Sh35,000 you can get the 7-inch capacitive touch-screen tablet which Huawei promises offers a ‘blend of style portability’.

It is 12.5mm thickness and supports both 3G and WIFI.

“Delivering connectivity for users thorough smart devices is one of our core objectives for 2011,” said Herman He, CEO Huawei Kenya.

“The S7 Tablet is designed to do exactly that, provide smart and efficient connectivity to deliver a simple and premium end user experience.”

The S7 Tablet also has a SIM card slot and Micro SD slot. A 2MP camera might not be too smooth but it has Bluetooth, a 3.5mm stereo audio jack and gravity and light sensors.

The tablet is produced by Huawei Device, one of Huawei Technologies Company Limited’s four business units.

Huawei Device serves 48 of the world’s top 50 telecom operators, and Safaricom as well. They deal with mobile phones, mobile broadband, convergence terminals, Fixed network CPE and video products.
