Kenyan IT firm taps small retailers

, NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 26 – An international Information Technology and business solutions provider headquartered in Kenya, CompuLynx Limited, has unveiled the first locally developed retail management software solution for growing enterprises.

Developed and customised by local software engineers, iSMART “Lite” is an off-shoot of its flag ship enterprise solution iSMART which caters for Medium and Large retailers. iSMART “Lite” is targeted at growing retailers with less than three outlets.

With increased competition and evolution to formal retail status, he noted that upcoming retailers are fighting hard to adopt standards already set by the major chains while reducing their overall overheads.

“This situation calls for smaller retailers to increase efficiency in their businesses and run their businesses “smarter” than before. iSMART “Lite” will enable smaller retailers to have control over their inventory, have visibility of their profitability on a daily basis and also manage cash & credit transactions,” he noted.
