AAR adopts online payment

NAIROBI, November 18 – Medical insurance provider, AAR, has launched a 24 hour online payment system through the PostaPay site dubbed as ‘coveronline’.

The product targets existing AAR members who wish to renew their health plan premiums in the comfort of their homes and offices as well as those Kenyans living abroad who would prefer to purchase policy for family members back at home.

According to the General Manager of AAR Health Services Elijah Wachira, Kenyans living in the Diaspora will now be a click away when it comes to paying their premiums and making annual AAR membership renewals.

“Coveronline offers a unique and convenient opportunity to our members who intend to make quicker and simpler enquiries in regards to AAR medical insurance products through the PostaPay operation,”  Mr Wachira said.

The General Manager summed up the launch simply: “Our clients’ health is our priority. AAR has over the years come up with products that are not only customized and niche based, but also those that incorporate members’ financial standing and lifestyles.”

AAR will offer five health insurance products namely AAR Gold, Silver, Bronze, Platinum and Cover Me under the newly launched online payment system initiative.

Mr Wachira has in the meantime, criticised the low health insurance uptake by Kenyans noting that only five percent of the population enjoys medical cover. He has sited the lack of awareness and scepticism among Kenyans as some of the reasons that have kept away most people from obtaining medical insurance.

Founded in 1984, AAR is East Africa’s largest private health care company operating in fifteen health centres in three countries, providing preventative and curative health care to over 140,000 subscribed members in all income brackets, as well as offering a rescue and evacuation service to its membership worldwide.
