Chelsea’s Italian head coach Antonio Conte gestures on the touchline at Stamford Bridge in London on November 5, 2016

LONDON, Nov 26 – Chelsea manager Antonio Conte says the club’s 26-year unbeaten record at home against Tottenham Hotspur will have no bearing on the side’s match on Saturday.

The last time they tasted victory at Stamford Bridge was back in 1990, but Tottenham remain the only unbeaten side in the Premier League and Conte has warned his charges against complacency ahead of the tie.

“I don’t like the stats, because the stats are old,” the Chelsea head coach said. “You have to live the moment.

“Now, if you speak about our unbeaten run, I can reply that in this championship Tottenham are unbeaten. It’s important to focus on the present. The present now is more important than the past.”

“I want my players to play with great intensity, with great passion, but always in the right way.”

Spurs showed their resolve last weekend by scoring two late goals to secure a dramatic 3-2 win against West Ham and snap a four-game winless run.

Chelsea, on the other hand, have won their last six straight league games without conceding a single goal.
