Giroud unconcerned about Arsenal future

PARIS, France, Nov 14- Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud is not breaking a sweat about his future at the club despite only having made eight appearances thus far this season.

Giroud’s season began a little later than some of his team-mates due to Euro 2016, but to make matters worse, he suffered a toe injury in September and has subsequently been replaced by Alexis Sanchez.

Even though Sanchez has excelled this season, scoring eight goals and notching up seven assists in 15 appearances, Giroud is optimistic that he will break into the starting XI again.

“At this time, the coach has opted for the solution of Sanchez leading the attack, partly because of my injury, so I now hope to get more game time of course,” he told Telefoot.

“The coach makes his own choices but I am counting on myself to come back strong and I will work hard to do so. I have no doubts over my Arsenal future.

“As with each year, there is competition for places at the big clubs. There are a lot of attackers with different styles of play.

“We have different profiles and can be used according to the team we are up against, but we can also be played together.”

In the eight games he has played this season, Giroud has found the back of the net three times to go with two assists.
